Our Policy For Resisting Superiors (When Needed)

Christ is King Action Ministries has and will continue to adhere to the following policy in dealing with errors coming from those in authority over Catholic laity, such as priests, Bishops, Cardinals etc.

  1. Seek Understanding First: Ensure the prelate’s statements are not misunderstood by seeking clarifications and giving the benefit of the doubt. Wait for clarification before concluding a judgment has been made.
  2. Avoid Judgment of Persons: Do not pass personal judgment on individuals, as judgment belongs to God alone. Criticism of the individual can undermine piety and expose oneself to spiritual danger.
  3. Resist Clericalism: Avoid defending every action of a prelate indiscriminately. Blind defense can weaken, rather than strengthen, the authority of the Church.
  4. Resist Error, Not the Person: Resist false teachings or errors while maintaining love and devotion to the Bishop and the hierarchy. Oppose the error without damaging the dignity of the office.
  5. Rebuke with Respect: When the faith is in imminent danger, respectfully question or rebuke a prelate if necessary. Public correction should be carried out without personal attacks, following the example of the saints.
  6. Engage Without Conflict: Confront erroneous doctrines or disorientation without falling into conflicts or personal disputes. Approach correction with charity and a firm commitment to the truth.

The aim of Christ is King Action Ministries is to remain always pious faithful sons of the Catholic Church. That is our hope that any confrontation with Church Authority be carried out with the utmost Devotion for the dignity of their office and for all members of the Mystical Body of Christ, the Holy Catholic Church.

Please give us critical feedback and feel free to keep us accountable to these aims. Thank you, and may God reward you.
